3 Indian players whom SRH can release next year
The performance of IPL 2024 finalist team Sunrisers Hyderabad has been nothing less than a nightmare this year. Despite starting the campaign with a win, Pat Cummins and company failed to qualify for the playoffs. In IPL 2025, Hyderabad looked weak in both batting and bowling departments.
SRH ended their journey this season by finishing sixth in the points table after winning six out of 14 matches. After this, there is speculation that the Hyderabad team may release three players before the IPL 2026 auction. So let’s know who are those 3 players who may have to enter the auction next year.
Ishan Kishan
Young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan showed signs of being in form by scoring a quick century in the first match of IPL 2025, but after that he lost his rhythm and continued to struggle to score runs. Despite getting constant opportunities from the team management, he could not improve his performance.
Ishan Kishan scored 353 runs in 13 innings of 14 matches at an average of 35.40, including a century and a half-century. Sunrisers bought him for a huge amount of Rs 11.25 crore in the mega auction. But he failed to justify his price in the tournament.
Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami, who returned to IPL after a year, failed to perform well for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. The franchise had spent ten crores to buy him in the mega auction, after which it was expected that he could be seen making a splash with his bowling in IPL 2025.
But this did not happen and he proved to be expensive for the team. He got only six wickets in nine innings of nine matches. During this, Mohammed Shami’s economy rate was 11.23. In such a situation, now it is being speculated that Sunrisers Hyderabad may release him along with Ishan Kishan before the IPL 2026 auction.
Harshal Patel
Indian fast bowler Harshal Patel has failed to make a mark in IPL 2025. This player, who was sold for Rs 10 crore in the mega auction, failed to live up to the expectations of the team management, due to which he was also trolled on social media. Bowling in 13 innings of 13 matches, he took only 16 wickets.
During this time, his best performance was taking four wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Apart from this, he proved to be expensive for the team in all the matches. At the same time, it is now being said that the franchise can show him the way out of the team before the next season.
