The highest partnership in T20 International history belongs to Japan’s Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake and Kendall Kadowaki-Fleming. The two batsmen added an unbeaten 258 for the first wicket against China in February 2024. In this match in Mong Kok, the duo performed so explosively that the bowlers had no chance. This record has not been broken by any batsman to date.

Usman Ghani and Hazratullah Zazai (Ireland)

In a 2019 match played in Dehradun, Afghanistan’s Usman Ghani and Hazratullah Zazai shared a blistering opening partnership of 236 runs against Ireland. Zazai’s explosive innings of 162 runs in that match is still considered one of the best innings in T20 cricket.

D’Arcy Short and Aaron Finch (Australia)

The Australian pair of Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short are also immortal in T20 cricket. Playing against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2018, the pair added 223 runs for the first wicket. In this match, Finch played a historic innings of 172 runs, which was the highest individual score in T20 internationals at the time.

Dillon Steyn and Sabavoon Davidzi (Czech Republic)

In 2022, Czech Republic batsmen Dillon Steyn and Sabavoon Davidzi stunned everyone with a 220-run partnership against Bulgaria at the Marsa ground. This partnership is proof that even small nations can achieve great things in T20 cricket.

Avinash Pai and Lewis Bruce (Gibraltar)

Just a day later, on the same ground, Avinash Pai and Lewis Bruce also shared an unbeaten 213-run partnership against Bulgaria. Their brilliant innings demonstrated the rising level of associate teams in T20 cricket.
