WPL 2026 Auction date, know where to watch live telecast and streaming: The Women’s Premier League auction is back for its fourth season, with the auction scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 27th, in New Delhi. The schedule for the upcoming season will be announced shortly after the auction concludes. However, it is confirmed that the full tournament will take place in January 2026, with Vadodara and Navi Mumbai potentially becoming potential host cities for this major event.
The first season was played in 2023, with Smriti Mandhana being the most expensive purchase, as RCB Women purchased her for ₹3.40 crore (3.40 crore). Nat Sciver-Brunt, who plays for MI Women, was also purchased at a high price of ₹3.20 crore (3.20 crore). With 2026 being the first year of a mega auction for the tournament, it will be interesting to see if any player fetches more money than RCB captain Smriti Mandhana.
In just three seasons, the league has become one of the largest platforms in all-women’s T20 competitions, and its valuation has surpassed that of Pakistan’s PSL. Like the previous three seasons, the 2026 season will feature five teams: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, Mumbai Indians Women, Delhi Capitals Women, UP Warriors, and Gujarat Giants Women.
For those unaware, MI Women won the 2023 season, while RCB Women won the 2024 season under Mandhana’s captaincy. Harmanpreet Kaur returned in 2025 to win the second title for the Mumbai team.
