A Test match is underway between India A and South Africa A. While India’s star players flopped badly on the first day, young Dhruv Jurel has strengthened his claim for Team India by scoring a century. When Dhruv Jurel came out to bat, India was in trouble, but he built partnerships with Kuldeep Yadav and then Mohammed Siraj to put the team in a strong position. Now, Jurel’s claim to play in the India vs. South Africa series has become even stronger.

The Indian team suffered an early setback when opener Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed for a duck off just three balls. KL Rahul scored 19, Sai Sudharsan scored just 17, Devdutt Padikkal scored 5, and captain Rishabh Pant scored 24. When Dhruv Jurel came to the crease, India were 59 for four, and the team appeared to be in trouble. Jurel then took charge.
Dhruv Jurel scored a brilliant century –
Harsh Dubey was dismissed for just 14, and Akashdeep was dismissed for a duck. Kuldeep Yadav supported Dhruv Jurel for a long time. He faced 88 balls and scored 20 runs. Mohammed Siraj also supported him. Dhruv Jurel scored 103 runs off 148 balls, with the help of nine fours and two sixes.
Stakeholder’s claim for the India vs South Africa series –
Dhruv Jurel has also been selected for the India vs South Africa Test series, starting November 14th. He was part of the Test series against the West Indies when Rishabh Pant was unable to play due to injury. Now that Rishabh Pant has returned, the question is whether Dhruv Jurel will get a chance in the playing XI. Although his claim is strong, it would be unfair to him if he is left out. It remains to be seen what decision Test captain Shubman Gill makes.
