The incident occurred when Carey played a high shot off Harshit Rana. Iyer, standing at backward point, ran quickly and successfully took the catch, but suffered a severe blow to his left rib as he fell to the ground. Consequently, he had to leave the field. A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source told news agency PTI, “Shreyas was taken to the hospital for a scan during the match. Initial tests have confirmed a concussion, and he will need to rest for at least three weeks. If the scan reveals a hairline fracture, it could be longer.”
