Danish Malewar scored a double century in his debut match in Duleep Trophy: With the start of the Duleep Trophy on 28 August, India’s 2025-26 domestic cricket season has started. So, on the very first day of the Duleep Trophy, Vidarbha’s young batsman Danish Malewar caught the attention of the cricket world with his brilliant batting. Let us tell you that while playing for the Central Zone, 21-year-old Danish played a brilliant innings of 203 runs against North East Zone and retired out. 

 

It is worth noting that Danish Malewar, who made his debut in first class cricket in the year 2024, is seen taking his cricket graph upwards very fast. He scored 783 runs in his first Ranji season, including an important innings of 153 runs played in the final against Kerala.

Due to this performance, Vidarbha won their third Ranji Trophy title. Danish was the third-highest run-scorer for Vidarbha this season after Yash Rathod and Karun Nair. Now, he has also become Vidarbha’s first centurion in the history of the Duleep Trophy.

 

His brilliant performance was seen in the knockout stages of the 2024 Ranji Trophy. Malewar played a fighting innings of 79 runs against Mumbai in the semi-finals and then also performed brilliantly in the final match against Kerala. He finished the season at an average of 52.20 and was the fifth-highest run-scorer of the season.

Born on 8 October 2003 in Nagpur, Danish bats at number three for the Vidarbha cricket team. He is known for his calm nature and troubling the bowlers. Danish’s skills somewhat match those of Rahul Dravid and Cheteshwar Pujara. In just 10 first-class matches, he has scored 50+ five times.

 

After this, he has also converted these scores into centuries. His average in first class matches is 65.40, which is really amazing to achieve at this age. However, coming from a middle class family, the path of cricket has not been easy for this young player.
