England announces squad for Test against India: The Indian women’s cricket team played a three-match T20 series against England prior to the start of the T20 World Cup 2026. Currently, Team India is participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup, with the final scheduled for July 5. Following the conclusion of this tournament, Team India is set to play a Test match against the England women’s team on July 10 at the historic Lord’s stadium. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for this fixture, with Nat Sciver-Brunt taking on the captaincy duties.

While many historic matches have been played at Lord’s, this will mark the first time a women’s Test match is held there. The ECB’s announced squad features their most experienced player, Heather Knight, who has played a total of 14 women’s Test matches to date. Additionally, Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, and Mady Villiers have earned their maiden call-ups to the England women’s Test squad. Consequently, this match promises to be a historic occasion for the players selected in the playing XI. Experienced players Amy Jones and Sophie Ecclestone are also part of the lineup. The BCCI had previously announced the Indian women’s squad for this historic Test match, with Harmanpreet Kaur set to lead the team.

The first Test match between the Indian and English women’s teams was played in 1986. Since then, a total of 15 Test matches have been played between the two sides; the Indian women’s team has won three of these matches, while England has won one. Additionally, 11 matches ended in a draw. The last Test match between the two teams took place towards the end of 2023.
