Harshit Rana Injured; Prince Yadav Named Replacement
Fast bowler Harshit Rana experienced sudden discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Medical scans have confirmed a Grade 1 hamstring injury.
This injury has ruled him out of the three-match ODI series against England, which begins on July 14. The BCCI has instructed Rana to report to the ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoE) for rehabilitation. All-rounder Prince Yadav has been included in the ODI squad as his replacement.
Chakaravarthy Out; Ravi Bishnoi Joins T20I Squad
Mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy also sustained an injury during the same T20I match. He has suffered a severe Grade 2 injury to his left hamstring. Following expert advice, he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I tour of Zimbabwe.
Chakaravarthy will also head to the Bengaluru-based Centre of Excellence for his recovery. India’s regular and experienced leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has returned to the squad, taking his place in the T20I format.
