As the coin fell in Shreyas Iyer’s favor during the first match of the series against Zimbabwe, he shattered this long-standing record held by Dhoni. This marked Shreyas’s eighth consecutive T20I toss win, making him the Indian captain with the most consecutive toss wins in the format.

- Equalled 87-Year-Old All-Format World Record: Across all formats of international cricket (Test, ODI, T20), Shreyas has become the first captain in 87 years to win the toss in his first 8 career matches. Before him, this feat was achieved by the legendary English batsman Walter Hammond during Test series between 1938 and 1939.
