Virat Kohli becomes first Indian player to score 1000 runs in T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma also broke the record of Tillakaratne Dilshan

Jayawardene scored 1016 runs in 31 matches in the tournament at an average of 39.07 and a strike rate of 134.74. Kohli was 27 runs behind Jayawardene. Virat could have overtaken Jayawardene by scoring 28 runs, but in this match, he was dismissed for 12 runs and missed out on becoming the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup.

Kohli definitely made a record in his name. He has become the first Indian batsman to score a thousand runs in T20 World Cup. Overall, he is the second batsman after Jayawardene. Players who played most matches in T20 World Cup, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has also made a big record in the T20 World Cup. He has become the player to play the most matches in the T20 World Cup as soon as he takes the field against South Africa. Rohit has played 36 matches in this tournament including this match. Hitman left Sri Lankas Tillakaratne Dilshan behind in this case. Dilshan played 35 matches.
